 I went to Laser Cut on Thursday, October 23rd. I chose blue Acrylic as my material. The coaster is 8x8 cm. -The file I sent for laser cut- -It was kinda exciting to watch!- On the weekend, I bought beads and paint to finish the coaster. The aim was to make it resemble water and rocks. The whole goal of such coaster was to make it some sort of game. A game where you have to put the beads together in a way that would (sort of) balance your mug/cup. As it can be seen, the beads are in different sizes and are supposed to resemble rocks/pebbles.  It looks unbalanced, but it's holding up :) that's the whole point! Is my drink sitting nicely or should I be worried it's going to spill all over my table?

 So I decided to work on idea no. 10, The Bumpy Coaster.  The Bumpy Coaster has removable pieces that look like pebbles and the surface of the coaster should look like a river/water.  I couldn't fine any texture in Rhino that resembled water, so I just went with a simple blue. I will probably use "blue Acrylic" and paint waves on it myself. I was also thinking about using "Wood" painting the pebbles to give them an earthy look.  The removable pieces are supposed to be some sort of game. The owner has to arrange the pebbles in such way that the mug/glass can balance on top. Each piece is at a different hight.  The coaster is 8x8 cm and 1mm thick. The pebbles are spheres with the radius of 1.5 mm. 

 1: a cloud coaster that absorbs water but just like a cloud, it rains. 2: a cluster with a built-in oven. So your hot drink never cools down and your cold drink warms up. 3: a coaster that shoots your drink up when you put your mug on it. (it has a spring) 4: a coaster that holds your cup by the handle. 5: a coaster that screams when your hot drink is getting cold 6: a treadmill coaster 7: a coaster that sends you notifications for everything related to your drink 8: a coaster that holds your cup/glass and doesn’t let go even when you want to pick your cup up 9: a coaster that keeps tapping/clicking your cup 10: a coaster with bumps so your cup/glass can’t be balanced on it 11: a coaster that complains if your drink is hot or cold 12: a coaster that runs around
